Pretty horrifying, not knowing if it’d actually stop after a full minute. Could feel the entire house shaking significantly - whole structure rocked back & forth - underneath my body, while crawling on my knees to try to get to a reasonably safe spot. First aftershock just hit now too (2:53 am)+52

It was really scary. It felt like it lasted for so long. Me and my roommate live in a, I’m assuming, very much not earthquake safe apartment complex. My TV is broken, many dishes broken, things tossed across the room. Our power went out in the middle of the quake. We got our cat in crates and waited outside for an hour before coming back outside. Our down stairs neighbors said there was cracking in their kitchen ceiling. We haven’t notice any cracking in our apartment. We also couldn’t find any emergency radio channels.+5

Very violent. Everything shook hard, many things broken. Walls cracked, foundation slipped, posts slipped and cracked, lost power. NO FUN+1

Nothing left on the walls or in cabinets. I live on the peninsula. Sand didn't dampen this one at all. Powerlines down. Shaking for about 5 seconds the the house lurched to one side really hard. Reminded me of how the 89 quake is SC but not nearly as long.+3

Definitely scary, keep heating a lot of people saying they have lived here for 40 plus years and never felt one like that before. I just moved here and live in Manila, woke up the the alarm on my phone then the violent shaking started. I thought my house was going to come off the foundation. Lots of broken glass but that’s it .+2

woke up to the bed rocking violently and the cat freaking out and felt like the apartment might honestly collapse on us+23

Felt like violent shaking from side to side, as if someone was pushing my bed or trying to throw me out of bed. I was asleep but woke up immediately due to the shaking and the alert on my phone. I jumped out of bed and took cover under my desk. The cats immediately hid under the bed. An aftershock occurred a few seconds after this one ended, which felt more rolling than this quake. The power went out during the aftershock and stayed out for approximately 17 hours.+3

Woke feeling a rumbling and hearing a loud and low rumble. Got out of my loft bed and walked to my window (about 4 feet away) to see lights flickering and flashing while house was shaking (I’m on second floor) grabbed my cat from my bed while still feeling the shaking, it stopped around about as soon as I picked up my cat. Many books knocked down and some loose items from shelves fell. Minimal glass since we have carpet.+1
