The EMSC proposes 2 internet browser add-on or extensions. A browser extension is a program that extends the functionality of a web browser in some way.
These add-on propose several features that allow the users to be notified in case of a new earthquake:
- A list, available via the button added to the browsing bar, shows the latest earthquakes and is updated in real time.
- A thin thumbnail is always visible on your browser that shows the latest earthquake . This thumbnail is clickable and the user can set its the position in his browser.
- A click on the thumbnail leads to the web page dedicated to this earthquake.
- The user can be notified of a new earthquake by an audible or a visual notification. These notifications can be tested and activated/deactivated via the “Settings” panel available via the button in browsing bar.
LastQuake

The LastQuake add-on is based on the significant earthquakes only (i.e. felt and damaging earthquakes).
AllQuakes

The AllQuakes add-on displays all the earthquakes published on EMSC websites.
It is customizable in terms of geographic area and magnitude threshold.
