Sitting at my desk at home in San Diego, I heard just a single boom/thud sound at and my house groaned like someone slammed the front door shut hard enough to rattle the windows/walls. Felt a small shake in my seat, just a quick back and forth jerking motion that was very very small but nonetheless noticeable and I immediately recognized it as an earthquake. None of my roommates felt it, probably because I was the only one sitting still, and the only California native. It was just a single lateral shake, but I would’ve been shocked if I looked it up to find it WASN’T an earthquake. Definitely significant enough to give pause. I felt it at 6:16 exactly, which was when I looked it up and saw the epicenter and seismic info on the top page of google search.

I was sitting in a high chair—kitchen bar chair. Sudden jolt felt like someone came from behind me and pushed the chair forward. I fell out of the chair. Turned around and expected to see someone standing there and then realized it was an earthquake. Movement was a jolt. I was moved in a North-east direction the push came from behind me. Rattling of dishes in cupboards and a handing light fixture in kitchen was moving back and forth.
